The city of Newark, Division of Fire hired five new personnel today. One employee was hired utilizing an existing grant and the other 4 were hired to replace attitioned staff. Here are the details of each new employee:
Shane Ward, age 36, graduated from Widefield High School, Colorado Springs, Colorado, in 1998. Shane is a state certified firefighter, paramedic, and fire inspector. Shane and his wife Brianne reside in Newark with their four children.
Brian Neighbor, age 32, graduated from Licking Valley High School in 2003. Brian is a state certified
firefighter, paramedic, hazardous materials technician, and CPR instructor. Brian currently resides in Newark.
John Guegold, age 26, is a 2008 graduate of Thomas Worthington High School. John is a state certified firefighter, paramedic, and earned an Associate’s Degree from Columbus State Community College. John and his wife Katie reside in Westerville with their daughter.
Austin Von Dach, age 23, is a 2013 graduate of Utica High School. Austin is a state certified firefighter and paramedic. Austin currently resides in Newark.
Mason Wilkins, age 24, graduated from Granville High School in 2012. Mason is a state certified
firefighter and paramedic. Mason currently resides in Granville.
